These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShareTheCost (the "App"), provided by Philip Bobbett of 15 Kelbrook Grove, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3RJ, United Kingdom ("we", "us", or "our").
ShareTheCost is a expense sharing and trip balance tracking application. It allows users to create group trips, record shared expenses, scan receipts using AI text recognition, calculate net debts, and coordinate settlements.
You may use ShareTheCost by creating a registered user account or as a temporary guest member. Registered users receive 1 free Standard Trip credit upon registration. Guests may participate in trips created by registered members without consuming credits.
ShareTheCost offers single-purchase trip credits and premium entitlements via Google Play and Apple App Store in-app purchases:
All qualifying purchases permanently activate ad-free mode for your account.
A trip credit is consumed when a trip is created. If you cancel a newly created trip before any shared expenses have been added to it, your consumed trip credit is automatically refunded to your available balance. Once an expense has been recorded inside a trip, the credit cannot be refunded upon deletion.
You agree not to upload inappropriate, offensive, illegal, or infringing content, including receipt images, display names, or comments. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have permission to upload shared receipt images or member contact details.
Archived trips are retained according to the trip owner's chosen retention threshold (30, 60, or 90 days), after which they are permanently deleted from our database and storage. Account deletion requests permanently remove personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
